“The door to the right of the landing leads to the ‘Secret Annex’ at the back of the house.” – Anne Frank’s diary; July 9, 1942
This brief direction to the ‘Secret Annex’ was then put in a diary in the form of Dutch words. But it is not just some mere Dutch words that are translated into other languages to us in today’s world. Its power to influence us is much more extensive compared to other influencing things all around us. If not, then take an example like mine; I am fully ready now to take my steps to move along towards my type of ‘Secret Annex’. Obviously, today’s step will be my first.
Anybody who hasn’t heard the name of Anne Frank is obviously an oblivious one(in my opinion though). Whoever didn’t read her diary yet also heedless of how much power that memoir has, thus can change our lives, help to become a survivor as well to battle against all the inhumanities in today’s world which still resembles the occurrences that Anne had experienced then by herself and as the other Jews also had.

During the mass persecution of Jews in Europe under the Nazi regime, these two words(Secret Annex) of Anne Frank were her real-life savior and a memento of having remembered for being safeguarded from the outside world’s aggravations until that moment, when Anne herself got betrayed by the cruelty of world itself, became the most recalled ever Holocaust Victim!
Writing was her passion, so I tried and now trying to be like her…
By the end of 2021, I had and still possess The Diary of A Young Girl by Anne Frank in a paperback book version under Indian publication. December last week was when I accomplished reading this masterpiece. Simply a great way to start the new year like 2022, full of new non-remedial nuisances all around us. Though it was the English-translated version of the original one, it had its own power to fully inspire me to read to learn to be productive to survive, and lastly which is now I’m and I’ll be doing from now, is Writing. An Incredible Fascination came into my mind when I had gone through this book and found some of the words in her writings that were simply conveying her adorable thoughts about writing.
“Unless you write yourself, you can’t know how wonderful it is; I always used to bemoan the fact that I couldn’t draw, but now I’m overjoyed that at least I can write. And if I don’t have the talent to write books or newspaper articles, I can always write for myself. But I want to achieve more than that.”
- ‘Het Achterhuis’ or ‘The Secret Annex’ would be the title of her much-desired book about her daily living during the wartime in the secret annex after the war has ended. Such an inspiring figure in the circumstances of facing death every day was out of an ordinary example to me, Exception! Inspires me every day, though it made me 4 months to come into a convicted state to write about myself, to write about all others’ lives as well in the world by own’s eyes own’s conscience which is still missing in our day to day world. Surely, Writing will be my kind of Secret Annex to fortify me, and will be trying to be aware of others to save them as well. You know from whom! From the World! Callous World.
My one and only persuasion will be towards anybody who is not aware of Anne Frank, is to go through her life, and the best step would be to read The Diary itself.
The ending of this text with the most famous quote from Anne wouldn’t be a bad idea!
“Paper has more patience than people.”
Obviously, it is!
I am an Intermediate Reader so my Writing is! Bear with my grammar and also with vocabulary and word selection. Any suggestions and advice from the readers as my big brother/sister
